Biography:

Jerzy Józef Koźniewski (1926-2014), joined the underground in 1941. He took part in the Warsaw Uprising, under the pseudonym "Ostoja", and was responsible, among other things, for delivering weapons to the ghetto through the sewers. He was taken prisoner by the Germans, and after liberation moved to Great Britain. He became involved in politics: first as Undersecretary of State in Edward Szczepanik's first government, and then as Minister of the Treasury in Edward Szczepanik's second government.
