The Polonica Institute is carrying out repair and conservation work on the 1899 organ by Jan Sliwinski. Work is being carried out on the instrument and organ prospectus. The aim of the conservation, restoration and reconstruction work is to restore the instrument to its former glory, preserving all functional original and historical elements so that it can be used for liturgy and concerts.

The Archcathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (the so-called Latin Cathedral) in Lviv is one of the most valuable historical and monumental buildings in the territory of the former Republic of Poland. Its interiors witnessed, among other things, the Lvov wedding of King Jan Kazimierz (1656) and the baptism of the later King Stanisław Leszczyński (1677). The creators of the valuable furnishings preserved to this day were the most eminent artists of Lviv, including the architect Piotr Polejowski, the sculptors Maciej Polejowski, Jan Obrocki and Franciszek Olędzki (Olendzki), the author of the polychrome Stanisław Stroiński and many others. Their work resulted in a work that is not only historically important, but also artistically outstanding.

Works completed in 2022 as part of the Polonica Institute's strategic programme "Protection of Polish Cultural Heritage Abroad"
