Biography:

Tytus Filipowicz (1873-1953). He graduated from a mining school after which he worked in the "Flora" mine. Later he was one of the leaders of the Polish Socialist Party until the outbreak of the First World War. In 1918, he was the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had the honour of signing the dispatch announcing the creation of the Polish state. From 1921 to 1922, he was Polish ambassador to Russia. From 1929 to 1932, he served Poland as an MP and Polish ambassador to the United States. In London, he graduated from the School of Political Science, where he became involved in the Polish cause by preaching pro-independence ideas. Within the PPS, he worked closely with Józef Piłsudski. After World War II, he remained in exile in Great Britain.
