Biography:

Jan Henryk Jedynak (1892-1966), born in Paszczyna near Ropczyce, died in London, son of Michał, a People's Party activist of the Second Republic of Poland, Sanacja politician, Member of Parliament of the first, second, fourth and fifth terms, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the fifth term, Secretary of the Board of the Labour Union for the State established in Palestine. He studied at the Agricultural Academy in Dublany, then at universities in Denmark, Sweden, France and Germany. He fought in the Polish Legions, when he was promoted to the rank of ensign (1915) and second lieutenant of infantry (1916). He served in the Polish Army (1918-1921). In 1924, he was confirmed in the rank of captain. He belonged to the reserves in Pińczów, Warsaw and Zamość. In the Second Republic, he was involved in the problems of agriculture and rural development. He worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Reform (1935-1938). A member of the peasants' movement, he sat on the Supreme Council of the PSL "Piast" (1921-1924 and 1927-1930). After 1930, he joined the Sanacja party. In 1938, he became Deputy Speaker of the Sejm. After 1939, he went into exile in France and Great Britain.
