Piotr Skarga (1536 - 1612) Polish Jesuit, theologian, writer and preacher, leading Polish representative of the Counter-Reformation, court preacher to Sigismund III Vasa, rector of the Jesuit College in Vilnius, first rector of Vilnius University. Servant of God, provost of the Lvov Cathedral Chapter in 1564, chancellor of the Lvov Cathedral Chapter. Author of Lives of Saints and Sermons of the Sejm.
