The statue is located at the main entrance to the Pampulha Art Museum - housed in a former casino building. The sculpture was created by August Zamoyski between 1940 and 1943, when he was permanently in Brazil, serving as a teacher in Rio de Janeiro. The statue depicts a young, thoughtful woman. The sculpture is made of bronze, stands approximately 2 m high and rests on a stone beam set on two supports.
