The Ernest Malinowski medallion by Teresa Brzóskiewicz was unveiled in 1996 on the initiative of dr. habil. Andrzej Ziółkowski, President of the Board of the Polish Society for Latin American Studies, on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the Battle of Callao, in which Ernest Malinowski took an active part and became Peru's national hero. The unveiling took place in the former Real Felipe fortress, now used as a museum. The medallion is made of bronze.
