The monument to poet Vasile Alecsandri in Bacău by Vladimir Hegel is a life-size bust of the Romanian poet with details and clothing typical of 19th-century sculpture. It was set up in 1897 in a public garden and is considered the first public monument in Bacău. The original stone plinth with inscriptions on all sides is not preserved. It is now located at 37 Vasile Alecsandri Street in front of the Colegiul Național "Vasile Alecsandri" Bacău. The sculpture is made of bronze, the plinth of sandstone.
