Biography:

Włodzimierz Czacki (1834-1888), born in Poryck, son of Wiktor Kazimierz Czacki and Pelagia Sapieha. He attended secondary school in Warsaw. He then studied at the Pontifical Lateran University and the Pontifical Polish College in Rome. In 1867, he was ordained a priest by Fr Alessandro Franchi. On 19 September 1879 he was appointed apostolic nuncio to France. In 1882, he became a cardinal.
