Tombstone of the Badur family

Karviná | Czech Republic

The site marked by an irregular stele on the base, in a band. From the front, the surface of the stele is convexly carved, from the back with an uneven, rough texture. The rear surface of the base has been worked in the same way. The finial features the head of Christ in a nimbus and crown of thorns, positioned where the arms of the cross intersect. Below, on the left side, an irregular panel with an engraved inscription, partly with letters filled in with black paint. To the right a lime tree with a crown of leaves separating the panel from the base of the cross. Under the roots of the tree, in the right corner, the signature of the stonemason's workshop.

Inscription:

RODZINA / BA[D]URA / HEN[…] [B]ADURA / ⁎ 2 [–] / TO CO NAM NA[JMILSZE]GO / NA ROZKAZ NAJWYŻSZEGO / OPUŚCIĆ MUSIMY. //.

Time of origin:

2nd quarter of the 20th century.
