Biography:

Jan Bagieński (1883-1967), born in Soroki, son of Aleksander Bagieński, architect. He studied at the University of Warsaw and the Higher Polytechnic School in Lvov. From 1909 he worked in the building office of Wojciech Dembiński in Lviv. By 1914, he had designed eleven townhouses and commercial houses that were built by Dembiński's company. In 1915 he moved to Sevastopol, where he became Alphonse (Alexander) Wensan's assistant in the construction of the barracks of the Sea Cadet Corps. He returned to Lviv in 1920 and became a lecturer at the Lviv Polytechnic in 1921. He was awarded the title of professor in 1933. He educated 370 architects.
