Biography:

Aleksander Rzepiszewski (1879-1930), Polish architect, mainly associated with the current of early modernism. He worked primarily in Kharkov - 27 projects between 1909 and 1915 - and was a pioneer there in the creation of so-called "company houses" (a prototype for cooperative houses). His characteristic feature was the profiled roofs of the townhouses, giving the city a peculiar, coherent shape. He died of a stroke in 1930.
