Biography:

Michał Batkiewicz (b. 1957), Polish sculptor. In 1984 he graduated from the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the atelier of Marian Konieczny. He uses various materials, including wood, bronze, stainless steel glass and stone. Among other things, he made a replica of Wit Stwosz's Marian altarpiece for St John Cantius Church in Chicago (1995-2003). It is the largest copy of Stwosz's work and is made on a scale of 1:3.
