Biography:

Józef Glemp (1929-2013), Polish clergyman. He was ordained a priest in 1956. Archbishop of Gniezno (1979-1981) and Warsaw (1981-1992). Primate of Poland in 1981-2009. Chairman of the Polish Bishops' Conference in 1981-2004, cardinal-presbyter since 1983, senior archbishop of the Archdiocese of Warsaw since 2006. Doctor of both laws. In 2009, he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle.
