Biography:

Czesław Petelenz (1879-1949), Polish military officer, naval officer of the rank of commander. Also a publicist and sailing activist. One of the founders of the Polish Navy. His name was inscribed on a commemorative plaque at the headquarters of the Naval Command in 2010. In 195 he was appointed president of the Polish Sailing Association. During World War II, he went west to Great Britain, where he died in 1949. He was decorated with the Cross of Independence, the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Cross of Valour and the National Order of the Legion of Honour.
