Biography:

Maria Angela Truszkowska, née Zofia Kamila Truszkowska (1825-1899), Polish clergywoman, Catholic blessed, founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Felix of Cantalice of the Third Regular Order of Saint Francis Seraphim (Felician Sisters). From 1854 a member of the Society of St Vincent de Paulo, she initiated the construction of a poorhouse for poor children and old women in Warsaw. In 1855 she entered the Secular Order of St Francis. The beginning of the Felician congregation dates back to 21 November 1855, when Zofia and her cousin Klotylda Ciechanowska consecrated themselves to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Two years later they received the religious habit.
