Biography:

Franciszek Macharski (1927-2016), Polish clergyman. Graduate of the Higher Seminary of the Archdiocese of Kraków. Ordained in 1950. From 1979 to 2005, Archbishop Metropolitan of Kraków, from 1979 to 1994, Deputy President of the Polish Bishops' Conference. Doctor of theological sciences, rector of the Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Cracow from 1970 to 1978 .
