Information sur l'objet :
Le tableau de la Prière dans le jardin était exposé sur l'autel de la Transfiguration du Christ, situé au fond de la nef sud de la cathédrale latine de Lviv. Les deux tableaux de ce retable ont été peints par Jozef Chojnicki : dans le champ, le tableau de la Transfiguration, huile/toile, 1775, et sur la glissière - le Christ au jardin, huile/toile, 1775. Actuellement, en raison de son état de conservation, le tableau reste retiré du retable et est entreposé dans la sacristie de la cathédrale.

Œuvres achevées :
L'état de conservation de l'œuvre, objet du projet, était extrêmement mauvais. Les travaux de conservation et de restauration nécessaires ont consisté à arrêter la destruction de l'objet et à stabiliser les couches technologiques de l'original en améliorant leurs propriétés mécaniques, ainsi qu'à restaurer les valeurs artistiques et esthétiques de la peinture, dont la perception esthétique avait été perturbée par les dommages dramatiques. Une fois tous les travaux nécessaires effectués, l'œuvre sera placée à son emplacement d'origine, c'est-à-dire sur la glissière du retable de la Transfiguration.
