This is the third volume in the series "Polish Parishes and Churches in the USA" published by the Polonica Institute in the form of album publications. This time we invite you to visit Polish heritage sites in the states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Maryland and Connecticut.

In the book, the authors characterise and present both the architectural masses of the buildings and, through photographs, show the current appearance of the interior design. A calendar at the end of each chapter allows us to learn about the history of the churches, along with the most important associated events and persons of merit in the development of the parishes.

When the history of these places is known, the urgent need to protect this part of the sacred heritage is understood. For over time it succumbs to rapid social, cultural and national changes. It is also often destroyed and dispersed. There is a progressive closure of religious sites and a concomitant loss of their furnishings and archival material, buildings are converted into spaces with a completely different function or are even dismantled.

This publication, together with the previously published parts, aims to disseminate knowledge about a little-known but extremely interesting and diverse cultural heritage in the USA.

In the publication, the authors used materials made and acquired during the implementation of the project 'Polish Parishes and Churches in the USA - photographic and source inventory' carried out in 2017-2019. The project was financed from the funds of the programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage 'Protection of Cultural Heritage Abroad' originating from the Cultural Promotion Fund. The beneficiary of the grant was the Society of Friends of the Catholic University of Lublin.
