"Polish Parishes and Churches in Chicago" - publication of the Polonica Institute

The album 'Polish Parishes and Churches in Chicago' is a publication accompanying the academic project 'Polish Parishes and Churches in the USA', which has been ongoing for several years. It has been carried out by researchers from the Research Centre for Polonia and Polish Chaplaincy at the Catholic University of Lublin and the Institute of Art History at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University.

The object of the research is both the sacred buildings together with their furnishings, which currently require a professional inventory, as well as archival materials, book collections, periodicals and other material testimonies gathered around pastoral centres.

The publication Polish Parishes and Churches in Chicago presents temples belonging to the style known as Polish cathedrals, together with the history of their creation, the most important events and the figures of pastors and architects associated with them. The album also contains architectural plans of the buildings and beautiful photographs of both the architectural masses and interior design.
