Polish Inflants, preceded by a general glance at the seven-century past of the whole of Inflants , is a comprehensive work by Gustav Manteuffel first published in 1879 in Poznań. The present edition is the first Latvian-Polish bilingual edition.

The publication is a detailed monograph of Polish Inflants, which includes a geographical, historical and ethnographic description, as well as maps, an heraldry of the Inflantic families and a bibliography of works treating these lands leading up to 1878.

Gustav Baron Manteuffel (1832-1916) was born in Drycany into the polonised Livonian family of Manteuffel-Szoege. He was a researcher with a renaissance range of interests: thinker and hobbyist, lawyer, historian, cultural expert, music lover and musicologist, ethnographer, genealogist, polyglot and translator, expert in art and architecture, patron of Polish culture, author of numerous publications on Inflants.

However, as researchers emphasise: "Manteuffel's legacy belongs to many cultures. It cannot be pigeonholed solely into the Polish tradition, as this historian's writings crossed national - and then state - boundaries. His work can be referred to by Lithuanians, Russians, Jews, Germans, Latvians, Poles, Estonians...' (R. Budzyński, Historian from Drycan , in: Gustavs Manteifels / Gustaw Manteuffel, PoĮu Inflantija / Inflanty Polskie , 2020, p. 216).
