Biography:

Witold Pilecki (1901- 1948) - cavalry captain of the Polish Army, co-founder and inspector of the Polish Secret Army, deputy commander of the Home Army Kedyw brigade, prisoner and organiser of the resistance movement in Auschwitz. Author of reports on the Holocaust, the so-called Pilecki Reports. Convicted and executed by the communist authorities of the People's Republic of Poland.
