Lethynya is a small village located 19 km north-east of Drohobych. Its first recorded owner Andreas de Lethynya appears in source texts as early as the 15th century. The 16th century was probably the time when the village was owned by the descendants of the aforementioned Andreas, the Letniański or Letyński family. At the end of the century, the village was incorporated into the Drohobych starosty. There was a Basilian monastery in the southern part of the village. It was destroyed by the Cossacks in 1648, later restored, and after the first Polish partition it was cancelled.

For centuries Letná belonged to the parish of Medenice. However, in 1928 the locals asked the church authorities for permission to erect a chapel, as they wanted to have their own independent religious building. The residents of Letná organised themselves, acquired land and raised funds for the construction. As it turned out, the initially modest undertaking grew into something a little more advanced. Indeed, four years later, a fully-fledged church stood in the village.

Unfortunately, the building was demolished shortly after the Second World War.

Architecture
It was a wooden building on a concrete foundation measuring 16 x 7 metres. It consisted of one nave and probably a separate chancel. A small rectangular sacristy was placed to its left. The exterior elevations were filled in with boards. The roof over the nave was gable and the roof over the sacristy was pent. A square tower topped with a conical cupola covered with sheet metal was brought out from the façade.

The interior furnishings probably included:

- Two chasubles.
