Biography:

Maria Aniela Tarnowska née Światopełk-Czetwertyńska (1880-1965), Home Army major and social activist. Member, and from 1928 chairwoman of the Polish Red Cross. She was a delegate in negotiations with the Germans concerning the removal of civilians during the Warsaw Uprising (20-25 thousand people were evacuated), and also in capitulation negotiations.
