Tombstone of Isidore de Paul Pfau and Kazimiera Pfau

Zaleszczyki | Ukraine

Burial place marked by a statue of Immaculata on a two-tier plinth and three-tier base. Statue on its own base. Mother of God depicted frontally, standing on crescent and globe entwined by serpent. Left leg slightly retracted, arms outstretched. Head tilted slightly to the left, long hair falling over her back and shoulders. The figure is wearing a long, ruffled dress, tied at the waist with a soft belt with a bow, her feet barefoot. A mantle with parted halves is draped over the shoulders. On the third step of the base at the front is engraved the date: 1878. The first step of the pedestal with profiled upper edges. The second step is profiled into a wider panel. On the right side a plaque framed by an engraved frame, within which is an engraved inscription.

Inscription:

D.O.M. / IZYDOR FRANCISZEK de PAULA PFAU / Doktor medycyny, chirurgii i położnic- twa C:K: lekarz / powiatu, lekarz regimentowy 69 batalionu obrony / krajowej. Zmarł 18go Lipca 1876 w 56 roku życia. / KAZIMIERA ANTONINA PFAU / zmarła 17. Kwietnia 1876. licząc jedenaście. / Najlepszemu mężowi, ojcu, obywatelowi Który / wiedzą swą i pomocą wspierał niedole drugich / Kochanej córce i siostrze prosząc przechodnia o westchnienie do Boga ten po / święca w smutku pozostała rodzina //.
