Image commemorating the demonstration at Hambach Castle (Hambacher Fest) on 27 May 1832, where more than 20,000 people gathered. Slogans of reunification and a free Germany and solidarity with Polish emigrants after the November Uprising were proclaimed.
Reconstructions of the events are shown in a 1977 painting by Hans Mocznay, which is housed in the German Historical Museum in Berlin (Deutsches Historisches Museum).
