In January/February 1942, the redeployment of the Polish Armed Forces in the USSR (General Anders' Army) from the Soviet Russian republics to the Central Asian republics took place. From January to March 1942, the 9th Infantry Division was being formed in the Fergana region towns of Margiełan and Taszłak. At least 23 soldiers died in hospital No. 4558 in Margiełan (this is how many names we were able to establish) and were buried in Taszłak in the cemetery.This cemetery was turned into a transport base by the communist authorities after the war, but based on witness accounts, the Council for the Protection of Remembrance of Struggle and Martyrdom located the resting places of Poles on the base.

As part of the work carried out by the OPWiM Council in 2010, the area (nearly 500 m2) was fenced off with a low stone wall. On the axis of the entrance, a monument characteristic of all rebuilt cemeteries in Central Asia was erected - a milepost topped with an eagle bas-relief. Transversely, 8 symbolic tombstones with the relief of a cross were placed along the whole cemetery, while at the foot of the monument, on both sides, plaques with the established names of the buried were placed. The inscription on the monument in Polish and Uzbek reads: "TU SPOCZYWAJĄ POLACY / 23 SOLDIERS / OF THE POLISH ARMY / GEN. WŁ. ANDERS / AND CIVILIANS / FORMER PRISONERS OF WAR / PRISONERS OF GULAGS / WHO DIED IN 1942. / ON THEIR WAY TO THEIR HOMELAND / HONOUR THEIR MEMORY".

At the entrance to the quarters, the OPWiM Council placed information plaques with an inscription in Polish and Uzbek that reads: POLISH / WAR CEMETERY / TASHLAK / FOUNDED BY / THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND / THANKS TO THE EFFORTS OF THE COUNCIL / FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE MEMORY / OF FIGHTS AND MARTYRDOM / WHICH ALSO EXERCISES / CARE OVER IT

After the liquidation of the OPWiM Council, the care of the cemetery is financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In 2018, the renovation of this necropolis was carried out with funds from the Ministry. The Ministry of Culture is also conducting research work to establish a census of civilians buried in cemeteries in Central Asia.
