According to Lucjan Uziębła's file, there was originally an oak cross with a tin plaque and a fence of granite plinths connected by iron bars at this site. The original content of the inscription: Ś. + P. / Adam / Pilsudski / Deputy Mayor of the City of Vilnius / Died on 16 December 1933 / At the age of 66 / Honour His Memory //. According to Wacław Wejtka, his wife Leonia Julia née Łodwigowska (d. 1937) was buried in the same tomb. In May 1939, the Vilnius authorities decided to erect a monument to Adam Piłsudski. These plans were probably thwarted by wartime action. The present one was erected in 1989. Julia Piłsudska (Leonia) née Łodwigowska was also laid to rest in the grave - she was buried in the vault together with Adam Piłsudski on Rossa', noted the Vilnius press of the time. In Wacław Wejtka's file, under the letter P, card 174, dated 1936 (Adam Piłsudski's gravestone). According to the card the gravestone's location is in the sector "By the wall of the AB cemetery, opposite the Marshal's mausoleum; left side from the entrance under the wall; opposite the mausoleum of Marshal Józef Piłsudski".Next to the description of the gravestone there is a note: "a temporary wooden cross, a tin plate with an inscription". On the plate the inscription: "S. + P. / Adam / PIŁSUDSKI / Deputy Mayor of the City of Vilnius / Died dn. 16 December 1935 / at the age of 66 / Honour to His Memory //." Attached to the card is an obituary. In Wacław Wejtka's file, under the letter P, card number 166, dated 1936. According to the card Leonia Julia was "buried in the vault with Adam Pilsudski AB) N16a". An obituary accompanies the card.
