Tombstone of Karol Zakrzewski

Тернопіль | Ukraine

Burial site originally marked by an obelisk on a three-tier plinth and base. Obelisk lost, lies to the left of the plinth. From the top a relief carved cross, below which an oval space for a photograph. The photograph is not preserved. Below an engraved inscription (1). The first and third steps of the plinth with moulded top edges. The second step of the plinth surmounted by a wider moulded panel on a simplified beam. To the front an engraved inscription (2). To the rear partly covered by limestone plaster and inverted 180 degrees, an engraved inscription repeating the formula of inscription (2).

Inscription:

1. Najlepszemu mężowi / ojcu i dziadkowi / osierocone składają hołd / jego cnotom i / unoszą głęboki żal / pamięć drogą na zawsze //.
2. Tu spoczywa Ś. P. / Karol ZAKRZEWSKI / który w 64 roku życia swego / z największem żalu pozostałej / rodzinie 24 I 1914 doczesne / zakończył życie / Pokój Jego popiołom //.
