Tombstone of Maria Panasewicz

Vilnius | Lithuania

Burial site originally marked by a cast iron cross on an irregular stele, framed by a concrete mantle. The cross is broken, lying next to the gravestone. Openwork cross, with arms terminating in floral motifs and filled with a campanula motif. At the intersection of the arms a chalice with the host framed by ears of grain and grape clusters, palm leaves below, titulus above. On the stele at the front an engraved inscription.

Tu spoczywa / S. P. / Marya / PANASEWICZ / Zm. 1 Stycznia 1869 r. / Prosi o pozdrowienie / Anielskie. //.

In the file of Wacław Wejtka, under the letter P, card number 18, dated 1936. According to the file, the location of the gravestone is sector "C1, 3rd row, N30, right; from the catacombs towards the N road". Next to the description of the gravestone is the annotation: 'iron cross on the ground from N 28 and 29 /hajko/'.

State of preservation:

corrosion, mosses, lichens, fragmented structure, overturned finial (preserved)
