Biography:

Jerzy Lewczyński (1924-2014), born in Tomaszów Lubelski, photographer, critic and publicist, soldier of the Home Army. He graduated from the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Member of the Gliwice Photographic Society, ZPAF and Fotoklub of the Republic of Poland. Lecturer at the ZPAF Photography College in Warsaw (1988-1993). Together with Zdzisław Beksiński and Bronisław Schlabs, he formed an informal photographic group (1957-1960). In 1999 he published a photo album entitled. "Anthology of Polish Photography 1839-1989", this was the first publication to describe the subject in depth.
