Biography:

Zofia Rydet (1911-1997), born in Stanisławów, daughter of Ferdynand Rydet and Józefa née Nowotny, artist photographer. After graduating in 1933 from the Main Economic School in Snopkowo near Lviv, she worked in the Orbis office in Stanislawow. She spent the war period there. After the war she settled in Bytom, where she ran a stationery and toy shop. In 1954, she joined the Gliwice Photographic Society. In 1961, she moved to Gliwice, where she taught photography at the Gliwice University of Technology from 1963. She sent her photographs to international photography reviews, in which she was very successful, winning medals, awards and international titles of AFIAP and EFIAP.
