Biography:

Polia Pillin, née Sukonic (1909-1992), Polish-American ceramicist. Born in Częstochowa in 1909, she left for the United States of America in 1924, where she remained for the rest of her life. She created hand-turned ceramics: pots, vases plates, etc. She decorated them with motifs of women and animals, including horses, cats and fish. She used engobe and glaze techniques.
