Biography:
Hanka Helen Cieśla Covensky was a Jewish woman of Polish origin born in Kielce. She grew up in Sosnowiec. She survived the Holocaust. After the war, she and her husband moved to the United States. They settled in Detroit, then in Bethesda. She was involved in expressive-abstract painting. In 1981, she had a solo exhibition at the Detroit Art Institute.
