Biography:

Jan Lenica (1928-2001), born in Poznań, son of Alfred Lenica. He was an outstanding Polish visual artist, screenwriter, art critic, one of the main representatives of the so-called Polish Poster School. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Graphic editor of the weekly magazine "Szpilki", assistant at the poster department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He taught poster design at Harvard University in Cambridge. Headed the chair of animated film at the University of Kassel, and was professor of poster and graphic design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin.
