Biography:

Henryk Tomaszewski (1914-2005), born in Warsaw, graphic artist, draughtsman, creator of posters and illustrations, one of the founders of the Polish poster school. Between 1934 and 1939, he studied painting in the studio of Professor Mieczysław Kotarbiński at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He collaborated with the magazine "Szpilki", together with Stanisław Sojecki and Stefan Stefański, he published the satirical weekly "Rózgi". He was a lecturer at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Łódź (1947-1949). He ran the poster studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1952-1985). In 1966, he was awarded the title of professor. He served as dean of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1959-1966 and 1972-1974).
