August Ludvik Bécu (1771-1824), born in Grodno, graduate of the Lithuanian Main School (Vilnius University), doctor of medicine, lecturer, full professor at Vilnius University, doctor at the Vilnius Hospital of the Daughters of Charity, was the first in Lithuania to administer smallpox vaccinations, co-founder and president of the Vilnius Medical Association.
