Biography:

Mieczysław Berman (1903-1975), born in Warsaw, son of Henryk, graphic artist, creator of political, film and advertising posters. He studied at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting in Warsaw. He was a member of the Czapka Frygijska art group. He worked for the Rój publishing house. He received the Gold Medal at the L'Exposition Internationale Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne in Paris for his poster "Missile" (1937). During the Second World War, he published in the "Red Banner" and "New Views". He designed the "Cross of Grunwald" order. After the war, he created propaganda and film posters, and published drawings and photomontages in "Szpilki", "Trybuna Wolności" and "Żołnierz Polski".
