Cemetery in Chotovo

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Lewkowski and Walczak: "The active Catholic cemetery in Chotowo is located on the eastern edge of the village by a local dirt road, 300 m south of the church. It is situated on land rising slightly towards the east. (...) The cemetery premise has a rectangular plan, (...) it covers an area of 1.6 ha. The cemetery in Chotowo was created only in the early 1920s, therefore it is dominated by styleless concrete and terrazzo contemporary tombstones. The oldest gravestone in the cemetery is a cast-iron openwork cross on the grave of Leopold Bryczkowski from 1928 (...) The state of preservation is very good." Noteworthy is the inscription from the gravestone of Wojciech Zgryza: "WOJCIECH ZGRYZA / UR. 1870 R. / DIED. 7 IV 1939 / PROSECTS FOR WEST TO GOD" (signed: "Ar. Antoni Śliski Derewno").
