Cemetery in Ciesnowa

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Lewkowski and Walczak: "The active Catholic cemetery is located on the semi-western edge of the village (...). It has an irregular pentagonal ground plan (...), occupies an area of 0.2 ha and is fenced with a wooden fence with a metal entrance gate on the northern side. (...) The condition of the cemetery is good". The cemetery is divided into two parts - the old one on the western side and the new one on the eastern side. It was probably created in the middle of the 19th century, but only a few gravestones have survived from that time, including the oldest granite boulder belonging to (...) Jackal with the inscription: "R. 1848 HERE RESTS (...) JACKAL L. 38". The rest of the gravestones date from the last and present century.
