Kyiv cemetery

An active Catholic cemetery established in the early 19th century is located approximately 150 m from the edge of the village. Nearby, to the west, an Orthodox cemetery is located. The cemetery is rectangular in plan, located on a flat, wooded area. It occupies an area of 0.42 ha and is fenced with a wooden fence. The entrance gate is on the east side. There is no division into alleys and plots, the graves are distributed freely throughout the cemetery. Gravestones from the 1st half of the 20th century predominate, the oldest ones are located in the central, least accessible part of the cemetery. The oldest preserved gravestone is that of Godfryd Ernest Groddecki, professor of Greek literature, from 1825. It has the form of a granite obelisk on a cubic base. The simple block inscription of the tombstone has been preserved: / LATE P. / G. E./ GRODDECK/ PROF./ LITT. GRACE/ ET ROMAN/ UN. WILENS./ DIED. 1825/ LORD BE MERCIFUL TO HIM/.
Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
