Cemetery in Pohost Zahorodny

The Catholic-Orthodox cemetery was established in the 2nd half of the 19th century, as indicated by the oldest, legible inscriptions on the gravestones. The cemetery is active, maintained in good condition. The site, located about 200 m north of the urban development, covers an area of about 1 ha. The Catholic part of the cemetery begins about 100 m behind the entrance and occupies the entire width of the site. The cemetery is predominantly dominated by burials from the 1st half of the 20th century, but a few brick 19th century gravestones have also been preserved. The oldest gravestone belongs to Roman Sierpinski and dates from 1869. In the southern part of the cemetery there is an artistically interesting masonry tombstone in the form of an arcade covered with a hipped roof, unfortunately without a legible inscription. The other masonry tombstones are destructs. By the path running through the cemetery, the burial of Father Hieronim Limbo (d. 1947), the only Roman Catholic parish priest in Pohost Zahorodny in the interwar period, has been preserved.

Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
