The cemetery for the soldiers of the Second Polish Corps (Cimitero Militare Polacco), designed by engineer Roman Wajda, was built between 1944 and 1946 and opened on 6.05.1946. It is located in Loreto, on the slopes descending towards the sea below the basilica (exact address: via Maccari). The cemetery takes the form of a terraced area surrounded by a wall, with a gate and a monument. It contains 1112 graves.
