Grave of Lucjan Masłocha and Lone Magensen-Masłocha in Mindelunden Cemetery

At the Mindelunden Cemetery in Ryvangen (Mausoleum of the Heroes of the Resistance) in Copenhagen is the grave of Lucjan and Lona Masłoch. This Polish-Danish couple had been organising a Polish military intelligence cell in Denmark since 1943, under the code name 'Felicja', whose activities were part of the Continental Action conducted by the Polish government in exile in London. Lucjan Masłocha, born on 15 June 1913 in Bobrowniki, took part in the Battle of the Bzura in September 1939 and was taken prisoner. In 1942, he escaped from an oflag near Lübeck and reached Denmark. Lona Magersen, born 26 October 1921, was his closest colleague. They were married on 31 XII 1944. On the night of 2/3 I 1945, they were killed by the Gestapo at the villa Hellerup. After the war they were exhumed and buried in the Mindelunden cemetery in Copenhagen-Ryvangen. Lucjan Maslocha is the only foreigner honoured with burial in Mindelunden War Heroes Cemetery, and his wife Lone, the only woman buried there.
