Symbolic grave of Rev. Jan Wolski and Rev. Władysław Grobelny, murdered by the Germans

On 15.10.1942, parish priest Jan Wolski and vicar Władysław Grobelny were executed for helping Jews. The parish priest, rescuing many Jews, issued them with Catholic birth certificates. Unfortunately, this information reached the Germans. The priests were arrested and shot together with the Jews in the Borisov Forest near Kobrin. The corpses were buried at the crime scene. Before leaving the area in 1944, the Germans burned the bodies of the victims to cover the traces of the crime. After the end of the war, a memorial to the murdered priests was erected at the site of the executions (which is now located in the midst of urban development, in the immediate vicinity of the Baptist church). It is an earthen grave, with vertical crosses (wooden and metal), fenced with a fence. The inscription reads: "Here rest / executed / dn. 15.10.1942 r. / Ś.P. / Rev. Kan. Jan Wolski / and Rev. Władysław / Grobelny / Eternal / rest deign / to give them Lord". The grave is in good condition, cared for by local Poles.
