Tomb of the Czarkowskis

Wysuczka | Ukraine

A square-shaped tomb consisting of a burial chamber and a vestibule, partly located in the ground. The doorway to the interior is located on the axis of the front wall; above it there is a longitudinal panel, probably the place of an inscription plaque and a coat of arms. The burial chamber is closed with an ornamental wooden door with iron lining; the coffins were originally placed on two levels thanks to parallel rails; preserved 1 tin coffin resting on 4 lions' legs with floral decoration on its sides and 2 handles, semicircular lid with a cross; traces of other coffins (remains of bones and skulls lying on the ground). The wall of the tomb outside was originally plastered. The state of preservation of the tomb is very bad, the inscription plate, the door to the interior, the architectural detail are missing; the whole is overgrown with feral vegetation making it difficult to read the forms of the tomb above ground.
