Graves of World War II victims in the church cemetery

In June 1941, Red Army soldiers murdered, among others, three Catholic priests: the neo-presbyter Father Zygmunt Stankiewicz, the parish priest of Skoruli, Father Franciszek Witkiewicz and the parish priest of Vepre, Father Bolesław Vegel. The priests were buried in the cemetery next to the church in Skoruli. Their graves were surrounded by a common fence. A common monument with an inscription in Lithuanian was erected to the priests today.
