Graves of Home Army soldiers in the cemetery

Soldiers from the 1st Wileńska Brigade of the Home Army, killed in an uneven fight with the Soviets in July 1944, are buried in graves located in different parts of the cemetery in Bujwidzy: Antoni Lubert pseud. "Wróbel" - squad leader of 2nd squad of 2nd platoon of 8th Company, Wiktor Makiewicz pseud. "Płomień" - commander of the third squad of the second platoon of the 8th Company, wounded during battles near Meysagoła, Wladyslaw Rymkiewicz a.k.a. "Diament" - died together with Lubert and Makiewicz, Mikolaj Suchodolski - came from the village of Janokol, died in the village of Pilwiszki in 1944, Edmund Sienkiewicz - came from the village of Chorążyszki, died in 1944 near the village of Ślepiszki. In addition, the cemetery commemorates the following soldiers, for whom it is uncertain where they were buried: Feliks Bullo - was symbolically commemorated on the tombstone of the Sienkiewicz family in Bujwidze, his grave is in Balingródek, Waclaw Szyszko - from the 5th Brigade of the Vilnius District of the AK, fought in the AK unit "Łupaszka" as "Czubczyk". On 31.01.1944 he was killed in battle with the Germans near Zulow, near Vorziyany, and was probably buried there together with other partisans killed that day; however, it cannot be ruled out that in the spring of 1944 he was secretly exhumed and moved to a family grave in Bujwidzy.
