L'église de l'Assomption de la Vierge Marie de Būšėchė, qui avait une fonction défensive, a été construite entre 1624 et 1638. Elle a été détruite en 1674 lors de l'invasion tartare. L'église a été reconstruite au 18e siècle. Lors de la rénovation du temple, au milieu du XIXe siècle, les éléments défensifs de l'église ont été démantelés : murs et tours.

En 2018, l'Institut Polonica a financé la conservation du portail d'entrée de l'église.
