Jerzy Hryniewski, actually Mikołaj Dolanowski (1895-1978), born in the Olszanka estate, died in London), son of Roman Dolanowski and Michalina, née Obertyńska, Polish politician, MP for the Sejm of the third term of the Second Republic of Poland, Prime Minister of the Polish Government in Exile. He studied at the Faculty of Law at Odessa University. He was a member of the Polish Military Organisation, alias Śleszyński , (1918-1920), where he was involved in intelligence activities. He took part in the Polish-Soviet War. He worked as a legal advisor and civil servant. He was affiliated with the Non-Partisan Bloc for Cooperation with the Government. During World War II, he was active in conspiracy in the Warsaw-Miasto District of the Polish Victory Service and the Home Army Headquarters, using the pseudonym "Lod". He took part in the Warsaw Uprising. He then lived in Great Britain, Germany and the USA. From 1947, he lived permanently in Great Britain. He was one of the founders of the Polish Independence League. He collaborated with the Polish Government in Exile. For example, he was a member of the Third National Council of the Republic of Poland, served as Minister of the Interior (1950-1953), Deputy Chairman of the Main National Treasury Commission (1950-1954), Chairman of the Main National Treasury Commission (1972-1978), initiator of the Institute for the Study of National Issues (1951), Prime Minister of the Polish Government in Exile (from 18 January 1954), Minister of the Interior and Head of the Treasury Ministry. He resigned in May 1954 and was active in the LNP.
